Tribute to the Les Brown Band of Renown October 6th - 2 pm
One of the most popular big bands of all time, Les Brown's Band of Renown
had 10 #1 hit songs including "Sentimental Journey" and "I've Got My Love to
Keep Me Warm". Both Doris Day and Tony Bennett got their start with the
band and they were also Bob Hope's band for all of his television specials
and USO tours. The Ink Spots were one of the first popular vocal groups in
history and had the #1 hits "If I Didn't Care", "I Don't Want to Set the
World on Fire", "The Gypsy", "We Three" and many more. Ginger Berglund has
had a long career as a jazz and swing vocalist, including regular tours with
the Stan Kenton Orchestra.

years. You'll hear all the biggest Sinatra standards including "New York
New York", "Come Fly with Me", "I've Got the World on a String", "The Lady
is a Tramp" and many more. Trumpeter Harry James started his career with
Benny Goodman and continued with his own band recording such hits as "You
Made Me Love You", "It's Been a Long Long Time", "I've Heard that Song
Before" and more.
