MARIO BASSIL & COMEDY GROUP

MARIO BASSIL & COMEDY GROUP
This show has moved their original date of January 18th, 2026 to January 25th, 2026

What’s the show?

The show (often under the banner Comedy Night or similar) brings together Mario Bassil, Chady Maroun, and Aline Ahmar on stage — each with their unique comedic voice.
It’s a theatrical stand-up / sketch-comedy performance: a mix of sharp humor, satirical sketches, impersonations, and lively satire of daily life, social and political quirks.

Who They Are & What They Bring?

Mario Bassil:

Long-time veteran of the Lebanese comedy scene: actor, comedian, director and producer.
Known especially for his signature character “Maryoka,” and for using comedy to tackle real social and political issues — mixing humor with pointed commentary.
His presence anchors the show: often balancing provocative satire with absurdity that gets the audience laughing and thinking.

Chady Maroun:

Skilled in impersonations and comedic mimicry — he can imitate public figures and celebrities, which gives the show a playful, irreverent edge.
He and Mario have long collaborated, creating a strong chemistry on stage. Their timing, improvisations, and comfort with edgy topics tend to generate surprising laughs.

Aline Ahmar:

As a female presence among mainly male comedians, she adds contrast: bringing energy, sometimes a different tone, and often helps balance sketches, especially when the humor dips into stereotypical or edgy territory.
Her performance also shows flexibility and comfort even when working with bold or satirical content — which can make the show feel more dynamic and diverse.

 What the Show Feels Like..

Expect a night that’s:

Laugh-packed: Lots of jokes, impersonations, comedic sketches — often fast-paced and high-energy.
Bold & provocative: Comedy isn’t just for fun — it dives into social commentary, poking at politics, society, norms, sometimes with satire that’s sharp and daring.
Familiar & relatable (for Lebanese or Arab audiences): Many jokes draw from real life, local culture, social quirks — which makes it easier to connect with the humor.
A mix of theatre and stand-up: It’s not just a “punch-line after punch-line” stand-up: there are sketches, characters (like Maryoka), acting, interactions that make it more like a comedy play.
